Sylvia Alcala, MEd, RHIA, CDIP, CCS, CPC-I, AHIMA Approved Instructor ICD-10-CM/PCS

Sylvia Alcala has over 30 years of experience as a leader in HIM.  Ms. Alcala is an adjunct instructor in the HIM program at Texas State University.  She sits on advisory boards for the HIM program at St Phillip’s College and Parker University. She is currently a Director of HIM and the privacy Officer for Connally Memorial Medical Center.   She has served as president of the Alamo Area Health Information Association (AAHIMA) for 2016-2018).  Ms. Alcala was also on AHIMA coding round table (2016-2019).  She has also served on AHIMA committee for accredited coding exam questions.
