Paola graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science in Health Information Management from Weber State University. Paola’s past work experience include: working for the University of Utah Hospital for five years in the HIM department performing release of information and indexing, then transitioned to the Revenue Cycle Department on the registration team. Over a year ago she started working for the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) in the Violence and Injury Prevention Program (VIPP). As part of the abstraction team, Paola is responsible for collecting data for fatal drug overdose cases from the Medical Examiner (ME) and police reports for the State Unintentional Drug Overdose Reporting System (SUDORS).
