Margaret (Maggie) Foley, PhD, RHIA, CCS

Maggie has over 25 years of experience in various aspects of health information management and education. She has held the position of Director of HIM for a large acute care teaching hospital and a psychiatric facility. Maggie has also served as a consultant for inpatient reimbursement and coding strategies.
Maggie works fulltime as an Associate Professor for Temple University’s Health Information Management Program. On a part-time basis she serves as an ICD-10-CM/PCS educational consultant for National Health Resources (NHR). Maggie is also an AHIMA ICD-10-CM/PCS Approved Trainer.

Dr. Foley is truly Temple-made having earned her B.S. in Health Records Administration in 1984, an MBA in Health Administration in 1994, and a PhD in Public Health in 2005, all from Temple University.

Maggie has also held various leadership positions in health information professional organizations at the national, state and local levels. She is currently serving on the ACDIS Regulatory Committee and the AHIMA Clinical Documentation Integrity Practice Council.
