Katelyn Bloyd, M.A.

Katelyn Bloyd, M.A. is the System Director of Employee Experience at Baptist Health. In this role, she works in partnership with the Vice President of Employee Experience to strategize opportunities for continuing to grow a culture that is team-centered, inclusive, and committed to the Christ-centered mission and values of Baptist Health, which employs more than 23,000 people in Kentucky and surrounding states.

Bloyd has more than 15 years of healthcare business management experience with 10 years in the HR space. Prior to HR, she was a business manager for Bluegrass Spine, a distributor of Stryker Spine. Fully aware of today’s war for talent, Bloyd is hyper-focused on engagement. Engagement begins at the time of recruitment and remains crucial throughout the employee lifecycle. To increase engagement, Bloyd led the implementation and launch of programs that provide useful resources and tools for leaders to stay engaged with staff through personal and professional development, recognition, and feedback. Another area of interest is communication. She works closely with the communication director to keep staff and leaders apprised of HR information in a timely and uniform fashion, another way to ensure connectivity and engagement. Bloyd is versed in social media and career site branding as well which is used for attracting and engaging current and future talent.

Bloyd graduated from Indiana University earning a bachelor’s degree in communication. She went on to pursue a masters in Christian studies with an emphasis on Christian leadership. As an avid believer in lifelong learning, she is now in her third and final year of a Ph.D. program in business administration with an emphasis on strategic leadership. Bloyd is also a certified trainer for DiSC Workplace.

Outside of work and learning, Bloyd is a devoted wife and mother to two beautiful daughters and two fur babies. She spends many weekends cheering from the sidelines as her girls compete in sports and participate in dance.
