Dr. Jasmine T. Agnew, DHPE, MHIIM, RHIA, CAHIMS, CCM, FACHDM, is an award-winning educator in the field of health information technology, management, and informatics. She is a published author, community activist, ecumenical scholar, and health professions educator. She has over two decades of experience in the field of healthcare education, curriculum development, and program management. Dr. Agnew is passionate about creating sustainable educational offerings to prepare learners for the workforce where healthcare and technology intersect. Her research focuses on advancing healthcare and academic equity as well as stakeholder involvement in the development of relevant curriculum. Dr. Agnew has played an integral role in maintaining programmatic accreditation and increasing pass rates for certification and credentialing examinations for HIT associate degree and HIM baccalaureate degree programs. She has been on the local and national stage as an expert on competency-based healthcare education and workforce development. She has also served as a mentor and moderator in several industry related organizations. She is currently an Assistant Professor and Program Director for the Master of Science in Health Informatics program at Morehouse School of Medicine.

Jasmine Agnew is a graduate of Itawamba Community College with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Health Information Technology. She is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management. She obtained a Master of Science in Health Informatics and Information Management from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and a Master of Theological Studies from Regent University School of Divinity. She completed her Doctor of Health Professions Education degree from Logan University. She holds multiple industry-related credentials and certifications in change management and process improvement.

Dr. Agnew is the owner of The STEM Sophisticate, an apparel and accessory company for those who work in STEM and love rich culture and high fashion. She is also the founder of BAE- Boldly Advancing Equity Through Education. BAE focuses on providing mentorship and scholarship for young ladies interested in pursuing higher education.

She and her son, Tyler, and her fur babies, Spot and Sassy, have made Calera, AL their home.
