Frances Dragon is the current Manager of Privacy at WakeMed. Frances is a native of Durham, NC and currently resides in Wake Forest with her husband, 9 yr. old daughter, and labradoodle. Frances earned her MBA in health care management in 2005 preceded by a bachelor’s degree in HIM in 2003 from East Carolina University.
Since 2005, Frances has enjoyed her various experiences as HIM manager and Privacy Officer within non-traditional settings such as LTACH, SNF’s, Health Departments, Military Treatment Facilities, and Medicaid. As a result of those experiences, as Frances has an interest in navigating privacy and security compliance within the spaces of telehealth and mental health among smaller practices.

Frances served 4 years as a commissioned officer in the US. Navy Reserve where she learned how to support and lead various sailors to be deployment ready. As a reservist and a civilian employee with Naval Health Clinic, Frances was sponsored to attend a four-week resident training program in Patient Administration at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. This experience triggered her desire to navigate solutions with global access to patient data for military members and their families.
Frances enjoys dancing, party hosting and planning, hiking, and trying new plant-based recipes for desserts.
