Elizabeth Hylton, CPC-M, CEMC has over 20 years’ experience in the coding and auditing arena.  Her career began at a small community hospital where she reviewed claims submission errors to reduce denials and increase reimbursement.  She has spent several years in the varying administrative roles of physician practices across different specialties, including registration, preauthorization, claims submission, and denial review.  Her coding and auditing career includes review of multiple specialties including cardiology and vascular surgery, neurosurgery, family practice, orthopedics, emergency medicine, and inpatient/critical care.  She has performed reviews and education for many physicians both regionally at one of the largest healthcare organizations in the Southeast and nationwide.  She served as a physician advisor through the implementation of ICD-10-CM for a regional medical system employing over 2,200 physicians and was primarily responsible for constructing and delivering education centered around the 2021 E/M guideline changes in her role as Director of Client Engagement at AAPC.  Currently, she functions as the senior manager of CorroHealth’s profee auditing department, which is responsible for the auditing and education of multiple clients of varying sizes throughout the United States across multiple specialties.
