Dilhari DeAlmeida, PhD, RHIA, FAHIMA, is professor and vice chair of education in the department of health information management (HIM) at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. DeAlmeida is also the program director of the bachelor of science in health informatics (HI) program. She received a bachelor of science degree in cell and molecular biology from the University of Toronto, Canada; a master of science degree in health information systems; and a doctor of philosophy degree in health and rehabilitation sciences from the University of Pittsburgh.
