Overview
This PTSF presentation on Trauma Center Accreditation: 2027 Survey Preparation is mandatory for all TPMs and TPMDs who are new to their role and for whom the 2027 site survey will be their first site survey. The presentation is recommended for all TPMs, TPMDs, Trauma PI Coordinators, and Mentors involved in preparing for a 2027 site survey.
The presentation provides an overview of the accreditation survey process and guidance for preparing for the 2027 survey, including completion of the Application for Survey (AFS), preparation for survey day, medical record review including performance improvement (PI) documentation, and the deliberation process.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this presentation, participants will be able to:
- Locate and utilize key PTSF accreditation resources and tools for 2027 site survey preparation.
- Describe the requirements and recommended practices for completing and submitting the Application for Survey (AFS).
- Outline the sequence and purpose of survey-day activities, including participant roles and expectations.
- Prepare for medical record review and organize performance improvement documentation for surveyor review.
- Describe the deliberation process.
- Explain how and when the trauma center receives survey findings and the formal accreditation decision.
