PHIMA | ICD-10 and Pharmacology

The goal of this series will be to familiarize coders with the classifications of drugs and biological contained in ICD-10-PCS.

PHIMA would like to continue your ICD-10 education with series of audio conferences on pharmacology.

The goal of this series will be to familiarize coders with the classifications of drugs and  biological contained in ICD-10-PCS. For  example, in ICD-10-PCS matrix of 3EO, there are a number of medications and biological included in the classification. These sessions will address what are the frequent medications that fall into those headings. This series will provide backgrounds on those substances, common usages, and routes of administration.

Clinical Pharmacist in Ambulatory Care, Dr. Donna Leverone has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at Temple University’s College of Pharmacy since 2011. Her background includes two year academic ambulatory care residency and work as an inpatient pharmacist. Donna speaks fluent Spanish and is interested in International Pharmacy which includes a clinical rotation in Spain; medical mission trips to El Salvadore and Guatemala; and working in an independent community pharmacy which serves the Latino population in Philadelphia. She received her doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Florida. Donna has completed extensive training in healthy lifestyle habits with The Center for Mind-Body Medicine. She was born and raised in Sarasota, Florida.
