David Steinhage, RHIT, CCS
David has more than 13 years of HIM experience in both Outpatient Auditing and Coding. Prior to joining the Intellis team, David served as an Outpatient Coding Quality Coordinator and Auditing Specialist for a large healthcare consulting company, balancing the responsibilities of both internal auditing and external audits and education for clients.
David has a proven track record of success in teaching adult learners. He has been instrumental in performing new client onboardings and problem-focused audits, including providing direct communication with client site management and personnel. David’s passion and commitment to the HIM field can be seen in his professional and academic accomplishments and credentials, which include an Associate Degree in Health Information Technology from Gateway Technical College and the acquisition of AHIMA RHIT and CCS credentials.
He is driven by process improvement and enjoys mobilizing teams on large scale or unique projects ensuring they have the support and resources necessary for success. Past projects include implementing transitions to EHR systems, charge mapping between departments, Trauma Level I coding management, revision of capture protocols for nursing and various ancillary services, development of functional Facility E&M models, along with robotic & computer-assisted orthopedic specialty billing solutions. In general David has an avid sense for guidelines interpretation and application to real-world client engagements. This activity has prompted clinical documentation improvement leading to organizational compliance and a reduction in denials.
Jennifer is a member of BKD health care billing services, a special team within BKD National Health Care Group that is responsible for managing more than $50 million in revenues for home care and long-term care providers.
Her expertise involves coordinating the billing services for skilled nursing facilities. These services include billing outsourcing and accounts receivable recovery services. Jennifer is a 2007 graduate of Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar, Missouri, with a B.A. degree in communications.
Dane Hutchins, MSW, LCSW
Dane has been with the Mercy Employee Assistance Program for 5 years, and has been employed with Mercy for over 20 years. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Political Science at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and obtained his master’s degree in Social work from Missouri State in 2005. He has been working as a clinician since that time.
Elizabeth Hurst, MBA
Elizabeth Hurst serves as Business Development Manager for Human Resource Advantage, specializing in client engagement and satisfaction. She holds a Master of Business Administration from Drury University, and a Bachelor’s of Arts degree.

Elizabeth has worked in sales and recruiting related roles in the Springfield community for over 10 years. She uses strategy and communication to help businesses and individuals develop best practices to achieve their goals, and takes great pride in building relationships on the principles of integrity and exceptional service.
Elizabeth is a Springfield native and is an active alumna of Drury University. In addition, she serves on the Greater Missouri Leadership Challenge, Women’s Initiative committee, and is a board member at South Street Christian Church, and an active volunteer in community outreach projects. Elizabeth is distinguished by her passion for business, her focus on collaborative team-building, and her commitment to meeting customer and market demands.
Emily Beets, RHIT
Emily has served as the HIM Coordinator and then Privacy Officer for ACCESS Family Care since 2014. ACCESS Family Care is an FQHC system providing primary medical and dental care to patients across seven counties in southwest Missouri. Their mission is a commitment to improving the health of the medically under-served in greater southwest Missouri through direct services and collaborative efforts.
Her areas of expertise at ACCESS Family Care include:
- Disclosure management and release of information
- Document conversion and indexing
- Health information flow and entry
- Privacy and compliance oversight and auditing
Emily is a 2014 graduate of Crowder College, Neosho, MO, with an A.A.S. in Health Information Technology. She is also an upcoming graduate of Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, MO, where she is projected to earn her B.A. degree in Healthcare Administration in Spring 2021.
