The presentation will cover all the guideline changes for both CM and PCS, as well as a selection of specific codes that are being updated. She’ll share some insight on a specific “note” change that may impact reimbursement for facilities as well.

Dianna is an HIM professional with over 20 years of experience. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati subsequently achieving her RHIA, CHPS, CDIP, and CCS certifications. Dianna progressed through the ranks of coder, department supervisor, and department director, to her roles now as OHIMA’s Coding Education Coordinator and independent coding consultant. She previously served as the program director for Medical Coding and HIT at Eastern Gateway Community College. Dianna is an AHIMA-published author of “Health Information Management Case Studies” and co-author of “Basic ICD-10-CM/PCS Coding Exercises 2018”. She contributed to the 2017 update for AHIMA’s “Clinical Coding Workout” book. Dianna has volunteered with AHIMA on projects including certification item writing, certification exam development, and coding rapid design. She is an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer and has been part of OHIMA’s Coding Roundtable Committee, facilitating roundtables held for OHIMA, both at the state and regional levels. She has been a presenter at several regional OHIMA meetings, the OHIMA annual meeting, and OHIMA-sponsored webinars. She is a fifth year OHIMA Board Member. Dianna mentors new AHIMA members and also provides monthly educational lectures to coders and clinical documentation specialists.
