This will be a 2-hour interactive panel session (with Q& A) for attendees to discuss opportunities and challenges in advancing their HIM careers. Panel discussion will cover topics such as networking, mentorship, personal and professional development, to include skills enhancement, credentials, and lifelong learning.

Jennifer graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Medical College of Georgia with a Bachelor of Science degree in Health Information Management (HIM). As a health information professional, she has 20+ years of experience in healthcare, encompassing a diverse background in medical coding reimbursement and compliance; HIM operations; clinical documentation improvement; electronic health record (EHR) development and implementation; healthcare consulting; and client development. She is currently employed with Shepherd Center, in Atlanta GA, as the HIM Director. She is a member of the Georgia Health Information Management Association (GHIMA) and has served in various roles to include, but not limited to the following: Nominating Committee Member, Coding Roundtable Chairperson, GHIMA President/Past President, GHIMA Delegate, and currently serves as a Mentoring Committee Co-Chair on the 2018-2019 GHIMA board. She is a recipient of the 2007 GHIMA Distinguished Member Award, 2012 Distinguished Service Award, and 2014 Mentor Award. She is a member of the Devry University and Atlanta Technical College HIT Advisory Boards. When she’s not busy in the workplace or attending professional events, she enjoys attending Atlanta Falcons games, spending time with her large extended family and close circle of friends, and traveling.

Earshler has over 25 years of experience in the healthcare industry. Her diverse healthcare background encompasses roles such as: healthcare consulting management, client development management, physician and coder educator, adjunct faculty, software trainer, auditor, payment integrity claims editing, practice coordinator, front office supervisor, and multiple revenue cycle roles. Her experienced consulting background includes performing gap analyses, business process redesigns (BPR), physicians’ clinical documentation review, physician/coder prebill and retrospective audits, and providing physician/coder specialty education. She holds multiple industry certifications: Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Document Improvement Practitioner (CDIP), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC) [formerly CPC-H] and Business Systems Analyst (BSAC). She is an AAPC PMCC Educator, an AHIMA Approved Revenue Cycle trainer, an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS trainer, and Project+ Certified.
Earshler is an active member of the national organization American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), the state organization Georgia Health Information Management Association (GHIMA) where she is co-chair of the Mentoring Program and holds quarterly Mentoring Cafés, and the local organization North Georgia Health Information Management Association (NGHIMA). She is also an active member of the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC).
