Marianne Durling, MHA, RHIA, CCS, CDI,P CPC, CIC, CPCO, AAPC, Approved Trainer
Marianne Durling has been involved in some aspect of healthcare for over 38 years, including clinical patient care, insurance, auditing and HIM thus creating a very diverse healthcare background. She is currently an Associate Compliance Officer at Duke University Health System. She has developed two college degree programs, one in medical coding and one in healthcare management. The success of these programs led to her winning Instructor of the year in 2012, and being nominated for North Carolina Instructor of the Year. She also works with AAPC in curriculum and credential development as well as a member of their Healthcon Education Committee.
Marianne has her RHIA, CDIP, CCS, CPC, CPCO, CIC and AAPC Approved Instructor credentials. She has a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, and a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Health Information Administration.
She is a coding, auditing and revenue cycle subject matter expert for lawyers as well as a seasoned textbook editor for multiple publishers. She has been published in professional publications and speaks nationally. She has served on the AAPC National Advisory Board, and has served multiple terms as President and President-Elect of the Oxford Tri-County NC AAPC chapter. She has also served 2 terms as President of the Triangle Region NCHIMA chapter. In 2017, she was awarded the NCHIMA Special Recognition Award for her work with NCHIMA.
