They will understand the disconnect between physician intent and recorded documentation. Challenges for coding and compliance specialists will be discussed and strategies and tools to overcome them will be explored.

Dr. Daniel Ostrovsky, MD, FAAP, FACP

Clinical Educator and Core Faculty in the Duke University Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Combined Residency Training Program. He has been the Lead Physician Coding Liaison for the Department of Pediatrics since 2012. In this role he is a champion for effective, efficient, and compliant physician documentation and correct coding and charge capture. He regularly works with compliance, coders, revenue managers, physicians, residents, fellows, and medical students to improve understanding of issues surrounding coding through collaborations and educational presentations. He also advocates for appropriate payment of CPT codes through his work as a member of the NC Pediatric Society Council.
