Proper documentation and interpretation is crucial for assignment of cardiac CPT codes. During this session, attendees will have an in-depth review of cardiac catheterization and PTCA CPT coding. We will review the documentation and pinpoint required elements that are necessary for proper code assignment. In addition we will review alternative approaches, C-codes, bundled procedures, and add-on codes. Sample operative reports will be provided and attendees will be encouraged to dissect the documentation in order to arrive at the proper CPT codes.
