SNF PDPM has been in effect for over 2 months, we have learned many lessons as well as identified coding practices which result in reduced reimbursement to the SNF. In this session, we will use case studies to review the impact of diagnosis coding on reimbursement.
- Identify the impact of diagnosis coding on PDPM and SNF Reimbursement: a series of case studies
- Describe RTP diagnosis and their use on the SNF claim and MDS
- Discussed resolved diagnosis (hospital DC summary) versus active diagnosis (MDS-PDPM)
- State the relationship of diagnosis to Medicare Part B line item claim denials

Theresa Lang, RN, BSN, WCC, is employed as the clinical reimbursement specialist for 9 SNFs in central and western WI. She has spent more than forty years working in long term care, consulting and training related to clinical reimbursement. She continues to have a consulting practice and train on ICD-10CM coding as an AHIMA approved ICD-10CM Trainer. Theresa is authoring a book on Diagnosis Coding and PDPM scheduled to be published in October 2019
