In this session, we will use case studies to review the impact of diagnosis coding on reimbursement.

Overview:

SNF PDPM has been in effect for over 2 months. We have learned many lessons and identified coding practices which result in reduced reimbursement to the SNF. In this session, we will use case studies to review the impact of diagnosis coding on reimbursement.

Objectives:

  • Identify the impact of diagnosis coding on PDPM and SNF Reimbursement: a series of case studies
  • Describe RTP diagnosis and their use on the SNF claim and MDS
  • Discussed resolved diagnosis (hospital DC summary) versus active diagnosis (MDS-PDPM)
