MNHIMA | 2022 Advocacy Presentation/Update
Virtual Event
Overview
The MNHIMA Advocacy Committee is excited to share with all of you a Public Policy update by the Advocacy staff from Allina Health, including Briana Nord Parish, Dalton Danielson, and Joe Silversmith. This presentation will review the following areas:
- Who Represents You
- State and Federal Policy updates
- Proposed Rule Aligning 42 CFR Part II with HIPAA and,
- How to advocate effectively
At the State of Minnesota level, the presentation provides a great oversite of the current state of government and discusses the impact of a recent MHRA case at the MN Supreme Court. Further discussion includes information regarding Price Transparency, and the future of telehealth. At the Federal level of government, the Advocacy group reviews material related to Social Determinants of Health and the Repeal of Section 510 from the Appropriations Bill. All MNHIMA members are encouraged to join in this effort to encourage this action.
To take action regarding Section 510 or additional related Advocacy requests, please go the AHIMA Advocacy page at: https://www.ahima.org/advocacy/take-action/
