MdHIMA | Cracking the IR Code: Tips for Mastering Common Complex Therapeutic Interventions
Virtual Event
Overview
Correct coding for therapeutic interventions can be tricky due to the complexity of the coding rules. In this session, interventional radiology coding expert Stacie L. Buck, RHIA, CCS-P, RCC, RCCIR, and CIRCC will provide tips for deciphering documentation and breakdown of all of the CPT coding rules for some of the most common interventional radiology procedures including angioplasty, stent, atherectomy, thrombolysis, thrombectomy, and embolization. Additionally, Stacie will discuss when it is permissible to report diagnostic angiography codes in addition to a therapeutic intervention when performed during the same session. Mini-coding scenarios will be utilized to illustrate key concepts. If coding IR procedures sometimes leaves you scratching your head, this session is for you!
* Please have the CPT book available to participate in the coding scenarios.
