Overview

Payers are engaging in greater activity as part of their Medical Review Process, issuing often times provider self-inflicted costly denials. How best to rectify and alleviate these avoidable denials? Follow the same guidelines and policies utilized by the payers in their chart reviews. Provider coders, auditors, and charge integrity professionals must recognize, know, and consistently adhere to the published guidelines, policies, and payer bulletins from the payers, especially from Medicare in the form of Local Coverage Determinations and National Coverage Determinations. In short, hospital staff must think like an auditor in all aspects of carrying out their duties and responsibilities.

Attend this webinar where you will learn how to capitalize upon the opportunity to operationalize “thinking like an auditor” in chart reviews, identifying shortcomings in medical record documentation that contribute to costly self-inflicted denials. Coders, Auditors, Charge Integrity Specialists, and Clinical Documentation Integrity Specialists, owe it to our employers to take a vested interest in insuring the physician’s documentation and other payer provisions of care meet the necessary requirements to be reimbursed the first time every time.
