Mary Gregory, Principal of Medical Administrative Solutions, is an ICD-10-CM/PCS and Revenue Cycle coding subject matter expert. Over 20 years ago Mary embarked on her coding career with Atrium Health Care (formerly Carolina Medical Center) and has since become a pundit at Inpatient and Outpatient coding. Her knowledge of IPPS/DRG system engendered a position for her as a trainer at major hospital corporations, such as Community Health Systems (CHS) and Veterans Affairs (VA). Mary is a highly sought-after trainer who teaches that great coding skills begin with knowing the coding guidelines and becoming skilled in the application of the guidelines ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, and CMS NCCI Edits.
Mary completed her Associates degree in Health Information Management at Central Piedmont Community College. In addition, she has obtained her RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CPC, and CCS-P. Mary is a Licensed PMCC Instructor and an AHIMA Approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer. Students hold her in high regard as an instructor because of her teaching style; she uses her experience and relevant examples to lead engaging discussions and cultivate learning.
