Overview
This educational program will provide information on the key changes for ICD-10-CM which begin on 10/1/2023 in two one-hour sessions. The speaker will provide some clinical insight into the disease process for certain conditions and review significant tabular changes. She will identify documentation and querying opportunities along with important actionable next steps. In addition, this program will provide a review of the critical FY2024 Official Guidelines for Coding and Reporting changes.
Objectives:
- Overview of the changes to the Official Guidelines for Coding & Reporting FY24 (i.e., PreopScreening and follow-up care);
- Discuss key FY24 ICD-10-CM Code Changes (Neoplasm of Digestive System, Acute Appendicitis, Sickle Cell Disease, Wasting Syndrome and many more;
- Understand clinical documentation details for querying and capturing diagnosis;
- Learn important steps to take to prepare for October 1st, 2023, changes to ensure coding accuracy and compliance.
