These presentations represent a foundational approach to learning about the new 21st Century Cures Act Final Rule about ONC (Office of the National Coordinator of Healthcare IT) Information Blocking and CMS Interoperability Rules which already have gone into effect this year. The presentation also covers the 2021 HIPAA NPRM (Notice of Proposed Rule Making) and SAMSHA 42 CFR Part 2 rule changes, both of which are intended to synchronize those rules with the new 21st Century Cures Act Information Blocking and Interoperability rules. The new 21st Century Cures Act rules are very complex and wide reaching, they will continue to implement for the next 2-3 years. All HIM, privacy, compliance and IT EHR analysts and development staff may benefit from this presentation, along with any others that wish to learn about this highly complex subject matter. HIM and privacy professionals have been struggling to understand the implications of these rules for their compliance programs, IT EHR analysts and developers are working with their EHR vendors to learn and implement their APIs (Application Programmer Interfaces) and Patient Portals in order to deliver the requirements of these rules. This educational sessions will further all attendees basic to advanced knowledge about these subject.
