Overview

Denials. They erode providers’ bottom lines, impede timely reimbursement and sap time and money to appeal. As a step toward helping providers take charge of pervasive denial challenges, Change Healthcare analyzed denial trends from 2019-2020. The data reveals that national denial rates are climbing – 86% of denials are potentially avoidable and 26% of those are not recoverable. So, what does this mean for organizations faced with a climbing denial backlog, resource challenges and complex workflows?

This sessionwill break down the key findings from the Change Healthcare 2020 Revenue Cycle Denial Index Report that summarizes national denial rates, root cause details, denial trends during the pandemic, avoidable vs un-avoidable denial types and more.
