Virtual Event

Overview

Diabetes
Becky Brown, CCS
What has changed and what has stayed the same? How coding for diabetes has changed yet remained the same.

Inpatient Coding Denial Topics
Jean Mitofsky, RHIT
Based on recent denial reporting, I have identified five inpatient coding scenarios that can cause denials. We will start by looking at references such as Coding Clinics and Guidelines as well as patient documentation examples. Then we will have time to discuss the examples to help guide us on how to proceed for future coding. This presentation was recently given at the AZHIMA annual meeting in June.

Why Do We Need to Review Coding Guidelines Annually?
Evelyn Thomas, M.Ed-ID, RHIA
In this session, we will review the new guidelines and what happens if you don’t follow them. We’ll also touch on some of the new revisions/additions/deletions for 2023.
