Heather Guscott, RHIA

Heather Guscott, RHIA, MS worked in Outpatient coding for thirteen years as a coder, a coding quality review auditor, a trainer and a Hospital Outpatient Team Lead. Most recently Heather accepted a promotion to Denial Coding Supervisor.  Heather earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Administration from Stephen’s College in Columbia, Missouri and earned a Master’s degree in Project Management.   She actively volunteers for AzHIMA as the chair of the Social Media committee, as a member of the Annual Meeting Committee and the Coding Roundtable Committee.  In her free time, Heather enjoys hiking in the Grand Canyon, camping and participating in trail & road races in Arizona and various other states. 

Patricia Hamrick, PsyD

Master Degree in Counseling – Texas State University
Doctorate Degree in Psychology – Our Lady of the Lake University

Dr. Hamrick has been employed at the San Carlos Wellness Center for over 10 years. She works with the Elderly, Couples, SMI (Seriously Mentally Ill), Substance Abuse, Trauma, and Bereavement. She uses Solution Focused therapy and teaches Mindfulness/Meditation in her clinical practice. Dr. Hamrick supervises and mentors several other clinicians. Dr. Hamrick has a focus on Behavioral Health Issues and conducted research on “The Coping Response of Cherokees with Diagnosis of Type 2 Diabetes”. Dr. Hamrick has done numerous presentations on the local, state, and national level. She currently lives in Globe, AZ with her little white terrier named Lily.

Jennifer Diaz Montano BHT

Medical Records Coordinator

Jennifer has been with MIKID since 2012 and has over 11 years’ experience in the Behavioral Health Field. Jennifer is currently enrolled at Central AZ College where she is pursuing a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) credential. Jennifer wears many hats in the company from: resolving billing issues, to maintaining the Electronic Health Records Database (Credible). Currently, Jennifer is our only administrative employee who is also a direct service provider. Jennifer’s experience in both the administrative side and the provider side adds another level of knowledge. Jennifer is an Arizona native, who married her high school sweetheart in 2018. 

 

Evelyn Thomas, RHIA

Evelyn has worked in HIM for over 25 years in Critical Access Hospitals in the Midwest. Her background has been working in a variety of HIM roles, from being a coding team leader to HIM Director. Eight years ago, she made the transition to education serving as the HIM Program Director and instructor for North Central Missouri College. She moved to Arizona four years ago and joined Central Arizona College as an Instructional Specialist. In addition, Evelyn is an AHIMA-approved ICD-10-CM/PCS Trainer and recently obtained her Masters of Education-Instructional Design.

 

Patricia Worthern, LMSW, BHP

Regional Clinical Director of Southern Arizona

Patricia has background in the Social Service Field and Education Field and received her Master’s in Social Work degree in 2018. Patricia was a single mother who had to learn the behavioral health and educational system for her children. Patricia has been in on both sides of the fence and knows the challenges it entails for parents to navigate the systems. Patricia started with MIKID as the Family Support Manager and is now the Direct Services Manager. Patricia has been working with MIKID since 2013.
